Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital Bargaining Update #05
Your elected bargaining team met again with management on Wednesday 5/8/25 to continue bargaining for a good contract. While there is still a long way to go to reach a fair contract, we did see considerable progress.
A majority of members participated in the recent referendum about bargaining and members voted overwhelmingly to tell the bargaining team to keep pushing for a contract that catches Lincoln City up AND keeps Lincoln City from falling behind again. After sharing those results with management, the team saw some positive movement, with management continuing to push for a 3-year contract but for the first time proposing a way to ensure wages at SNLH don’t fall behind.
We were also able to reach a number of tentative contract agreements including establishing a non-discrimination clause in the contract, increasing trainer pay, expanding the time management needs to to notify the union before restructures or layoffs, and increasing the certification payment.
There are still significant issues to resolve, including management proposals to reduce maximum PTO accruals and to substantially increase insurance premiums, as well as managements insistence that Lincoln City bargain alone in the future.
When members stand strong, management moves, and it leads to a better contract. If SNLH workers stay strong and united, we are on track to win a strong contract.
