INTER-CON
Inter-Con Officers Overwhelmingly Vote to YES to Approve their First Contract!
On September 16 and 17 Inter-Con officers made their voices heard by voting to approve their new contract.
So, what’s next?
1). Now it is time to enforce our contract! Our first priority will be getting the wage increases, retro pay, and new paid time off accruals set up. We will update this page as soon as we have a date for implementation.
Timeline for Wage Increases and Retro Pay: Your new wage, and your retro pay (the pay you were owed under this new wage from 7/1/2025 through 9/27/25 will be on your check that goes out on 10/17/2025. That check will reflect your new rate going back to 9/28/25 and your retro pay.
If you have a question about your pay, or believe it is incorrect, please contact Inter-Con first to report the issue and then the SEIU 49 Member Resource Center.
2). Fill out your SEIU 49 Membership Application — Inter-Con Officers need to fill out a membership application which you can do HERE or via the Paycom application with Inter-Con.
3). Building Union Power at our worksites — We also need to elect Union Stewards. Union Stewards are Officers who represent their coworkers and will get trained on our contract and how to answer questions from coworkers and work with Inter-Con management when issues come up. Union Stewards need to be elected by their coworkers.
Are you interested in becoming a Union Steward?
You will need to have at least 4 coworkers fill out this short form nominating you to be their steward.
Welcome to SEIU Local 49, from President Meg Niemi
On behalf of our entire membership, I would like to welcome you to the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 49. As a member of SEIU 49, you are part of a vibrant and democratic organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of working families. We are over 15,000 healthcare workers, janitors, and security officers in Oregon and Southwest Washington who are coming together to win livable wages, affordable healthcare benefits, and job security, and to create a more just society.
We are stronger together, and I encourage you to be an active member of our union. You will have the opportunity to help enforce your contract in your worksite, organize new members into our union, and advocate at our State Capitols to pass laws that help working families.
