Oregon House Bill 2697
Hospital Staffing Is in Crisis &
Legislators Need to Hear from You!
Burned out. Tired. Overworked. Understaffed. Trouble providing quality patient care. Unsafe conditions for patients and staff. These are some of the ways that workers and patients in Oregon hospitals would describe the conditions we face everyday at work. Our union is working hard to ensure that workers have a voice in staffing, putting patients and frontline staff first in conversations about how to ensure quality patient care.
House Bill 2697 would give workers across all departments a voice in staffing plans for hospitals and ensure that management is held accountable when they do not follow the law.

Please personalize your message to your legislators below by including details like where you work and what job you do:
“I have worked as a CNA in the ICU for XX years. In my department due to workload and low pay, it is getting harder and harder to fill open positions and this makes it impossible to provide the type of care our patients deserve.”
“As a respiratory therapist there are only X working full time in my hospital. We often have to rely on traveling temporary workers to meet the need.”
