Samaritan Health Systems: Bargaining Update 5

3% WON’T PAY THE RENT!

Our priorities are clear: Better wages, better healthcare benefits, and improved PTO benefits. Management’s proposals fall short of the standards SHS workers deserve. GSRMC, Albany, and Lebanon  members are standing united with workers across the Valley to win great contracts that will attract and retain healthcare workers so we can provide high-quality patient care.

BETTER WAGES

Management has proposed:
GSRMC Tech 3%, 2%, and 2% annual increases

❌ Albany and GSRMC Service 3%, 2.5%, and 2.5 % annual increases

Management has not passed a wage proposal yet in Lebanon

In Albany management proposed only a 5¢ increase to shift differentials and proposed NO increase to shift differentials for Service at GSRMC.

Our work is essential to SHS and to the patients and communities we serve. These increases do not keep up with rising costs or recognize the value of the work we do every day.  Management needs to do better.

WAGES AREN’T THE ONLY ISSUE

We proposed eliminating the current two-tier PTO accrual structure allowing all SEIU L49 members to accrue PTO at the same rate regardless of where they work.   Management responded by proposing to reduce your PTO accrual cap to 560 hours.

Our priority is to improve PTO benefits that support SHS workers and our families, not reduce a benefit we already have.

BETTER HEALTHCARE BENEFITS

Better healthcare remains one of our top priorities. Our bargaining teams are working for healthcare benefits that support SHS workers and our families. Strong benefits are an important part of recruiting and retaining the experienced healthcare workers our patients and communities depend on.

IT’S TIME TO STAND TOGETHER

Our strength at the bargaining table comes from members standing together across SHS hospitals throughout the Valley. Stand with your coworkers. Sign the petition. Purple up every Thursday. Let management see that SHS workers across the Valley are united for the contract we deserve.
