Samaritan Health Systems: Bargaining Update 6

MANAGEMENT FALLS SHORT AT THE TABLE

Management’s latest wage proposal falls short of what SHS workers need to be able to take care of ourselves, our families, and our patients.

MANAGEMENT’S CURRENT PROPOSALS

  • 3.25% first year with no retro, 2.75% in the second year, and 2.5% in the third year

  • A 5¢ increase to evening shift differential with no increase to night or weekend differentials

  • Reducing PTO accrual cap to 560 hours

We have a shared interest in an expedited final longevity step so members no longer have to wait two years to move to Step 14 and increased the required rest between shifts from 8 hours to 10 hours. While we are making progress, we still have a long way to go. We need to stay united and let management know that 3.25% won’t do. As SHS workers united across the Valley, we are committed to winning better wages, protecting our PTO, and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.
