Providence St. Vincent Bargaining Update: Our Power Continues to Bring Change
We made significant movement in bargaining today! Because of the strength and power we showed in setting a deadline for management, we were able to set standards in our new contract that will make a difference to so many of us. Here's what we've won:
✅ We've prevented Providence from taking away our TriMet passes;
✅ Management can no longer force us to come into work or stay overnight during unprecedented weather events;
✅ We've established hiring procedures that don't look past qualified employees with seniority
✅ Most importantly, we won daily and weekly overtime for ourselves.
Stickering Up Across Providence: Showing our Unity
Today, in unity with all of us at St Vincent, our SEIU counterparts at Providence Hood River and Providence Milwaukie all wore the same sticker! Wearing the sticker shows we will continue to organize and work together across the system to make Providence a great place to work.
Our Deadline is Here: Time to Take Action!
Two bargaining sessions ago, we set a deadline for management to give us a fair contract. As July 4 gets closer, we have to show management that we were serious. On July 1, 2, and 3, we all need to VOTE on our next steps. Come hear from your bargaining team, learn more about what’s on the table, and share your opinion directly!

Providence St. Vincent Bargaining Update: Nuestro Poder Continúa Generando Cambios
¡Hoy logramos avances significativos en la negociación colectiva! Gracias a la fortaleza y el poder que demostramos al fijar un plazo para la administración, pudimos establecer estándares en nuestro nuevo contrato que marcarán una diferencia para muchos de nosotros. Esto es lo que hemos ganado:
✅ Hemos impedido que Providence nos quite los pases de TriMet;
✅ La administración ya no puede obligarnos a presentarnos al trabajo ni a quedarnos durante la noche en eventos climáticos sin precedentes;
✅ Hemos establecido procedimientos de contratación que no pasan por alto a empleados calificados con antigüedad
✅ Lo más importante: ganamos tiempo extra diario y semanal para nosotros mismos.
Portando el Sticker en Todo Providence: Mostrando Nuestra Unidad
Hoy, en unidad con todos nosotros en St. Vincent, nuestros compañeros de la SEIU en Providence Hood River y Providence Milwaukie portaron el mismo sticker. Llevar el sticker muestra que seguiremos organizándonos y trabajando juntos en todo el sistema para hacer de Providence un excelente lugar de trabajo.
