PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Bargaining Update #04

We are United for Fair Wages, Affordable Healthcare, and Respect For All

Your elected bargaining team met for the 4th time with management on 8/19/2025. While your team pushes for meaningful improvements in wages and benefits, management is proposing reductions in pay for many members.

Management Proposed Shift Pay Takeaway: Management proposed zero increase in shift differential amounts and changing the way shift differentials are paid so that workers don’t get any differential unless the majority of their shift falls within the evening or night shift. For 12-hour day shift workers, that would mean no evening shift differential for the hours between 3-7:30 pm, a takeaway of $1,036 a year.

Management proposed reducing rest time between shifts to 10 hours for all employees. Currently, 8 and 10-hour shift employees get 11 hours rest between shifts or premium pay for the subsequent shift.

While management is proposing takeaways, your bargaining team is pushing for improvements for all workers. The focus was on core priorities members set in their bargaining surveys, including affordable health care, competitive wages, and honoring the diverse workforce and communities we serve.

💜 Affordable Healthcare: Your team proposed no premium increases or plan design changes and a cap on the out-of-pocket maximum of $1,500 a family, or $1,000 for an individual.

💜 Competitive Wages: Your team proposed substantial wage increases for all employees, a $23 minimum wage for all positions, and increases for long-term employees.

💜 Honoring Diversity: Our workplaces and our communities are stronger because of the diverse people and experiences who choose to work at PeaceHealth. Your team proposed additional protections for immigrant workers and married workers to ensure that our rights are protected in this uncertain environment.

Other proposals included direct payment for missed breaks and lunches, enhanced scheduling protections, respect for the right to organize, and more…

Members spoke and your bargaining team listened! Together with PeaceHealth members in Longview, we are proposing major improvements to wages and health insurance, respect for diversity, and an agreement that new hospitals open under our existing contract. To win on these priorities, and to push back on management takeaways, members will need to be active and united.
