90,000+ UNITED. What comes next depends on us.
For decades, frontline workers across our 12 Coalition unions have built a National Agreement that ensuresfairness, job protections, and benefits across Kaiser. Three years ago, our unity and collective action led to the largest healthcare worker strike in U.S. history and a historic contract, including 21.5% in wage increases.
But healthcare — and Kaiser — is changing.
Across Kaiser facilities, we’re seeing more outsourcing, automation, and consolidation. New pressures are coming from HR1 funding cuts and AI. Kaiser is expanding non-union facilities where caregivers may do similar work with different wages and protections.
We’re also seeing changes in Kaiser’s approach to bargaining. In recent negotiations with the Alliance , Kaiser has pushed issues traditionally addressed at national bargaining to local tables and taken disputes into civil court. We have to be prepared for the possibility that Kaiser may bring the same playbook to our bargaining in 2027
What we built is worth protecting.
Our National Agreement expires September 30, 2027, and it will take all 90,000+ of our voices together to shape what comes next.
