HHS: Bargaining Update 1

HHS Bargaining Update - Oct. 23, 2026
Our goal is to win a contract with a fair wage scale that recognizes our experience and fair differentials, so HHS can attract and keep quality workers and our patients and community get the care they deserve.

HHS · Bargaining Update 1

Your bargaining team hit the ground running!

At our first session on Tuesday, Oct. 20, we went straight to our top priorities, including a wage scale that helps keep and attract quality workers and recognizes our dedication to our patients and our community.

Julie Amador, Shop Steward FTU, says: “Let’s show our unity! Sign our priorities petition. We have been working hard to get us all a better contract, but it will take us standing together to get there.”

Ground rules agreement reached

Management accepted our ground rules before the end of the meeting.

We presented proposals on:

  • Article 2 – Discrimination & Confidentiality
  • Article 23 – Wages: A new wage scale, with placement on the scale based on previous experience
  • Article 24 – Differentials: More differentials added to this article
  • Article 38 – Duration
  • Education Trust Fund

Already winning

We’ve already won money back for new hires!

While researching current wages, your team found that 20 new hires were not being paid the correct starting wage. In most cases this goes back to January. We brought it to HR, and they are fixing the problem.

New hires: watch your paycheck for a 3% retroactive pay increase!

This is what happens when we stand together.

What’s next?

Next session: Tuesday, Nov. 17
