Samaritan Lebanon · Bargaining Update 5

Still met with disappointment at the table

We met with management on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Even after we delivered our bargaining priorities petition, we were still met with disappointment at the table!

Our proposals and their answers

Our proposalManagement’s response
Improvements to PTO: no more two-tier PTO. All SEIU members accrue at the current maximum in SHS. No improvements to PTO
New bilingual differential No
Consecutive day pay for working more than 5 days in a row No, you can earn overtime for hours over 40 in a week
Certification premiums for certifications held above and beyond what’s required for the job No, not willing to pay for extra certifications
Increase to on-call pay No
Bargaining changes to health insurance No, we will discuss the impacts with you
Retro pay back to when we formed our union No, we will give retro back to the date of contract ratification
A 3-year contract that aligns us with the other Samaritan contracts No, we will give you a 1-year contract

…and yet management also proposed across-the-board wage increases of 3% for the first year, effective after ratification, then 2.5% in year 2 and 2.5% in year 3.

We presented our petition signatures to management!

Let’s show our unity!

How will management’s wage proposal impact you?

How will it impact you now and in the future? How will it impact our patients now and in the future? Show us in three easy steps:

  1. Write the impact on you or our patients on a sheet of paper. Include your first and last name.
  2. Take a picture holding your paper.
  3. Send the picture to your bargaining team or contract action team member.
We need your pictures by our next bargaining date, Nov. 5.

We plan to share them with management.
