LINCOLN CITY DESERVES BETTER
Your union bargaining team met with management to continue negotiations on Tuesday 4/29/25. Management presented only one proposal, to insist on a 3-year contract which would continue to leave Lincoln City workers behind.
Management has agreed to raise wages in the first year so Lincoln City wages catch up to Newport wages. They have also agreed to additional education benefits which all other Samaritan SEIU 49 members already enjoy. Those are positive steps, but management still insists that Lincoln City workers accept less than other SEIU 49 members with a contract that would put us even further behind.
Management’s proposals:
Reducing PTO accrual for long term employees and reducing maximum PTO accrual below the level all other SEIU members at SHS can currently accrue.
Substantial health care premium increases above what any other group of SEIU members at Samaritan have agreed to. Under their proposal a full-time worker would pay over $40 a month more per month to cover their family by the end of the contract.
Low wage increases in 2026 and 2027 of only 2.5%, which won’t even keep up with inflation.
Your bargaining team is continuing to push for a one-year contract to catch Lincoln City workers up now. This would align the contract expiration with Newport so that SNLH can bargain in the same year as the other four groups of Samaritan members, giving us all the power to win good contracts and ensure that no one gets left behind.
What is the cost of falling behind?
A full-time EVS worker who started work at SPCH in April 2024 would already have earned $5,202.00 more than a worker at North Lincoln with the same experience who started at the same time.
A full-time OR Tech who started work at SPCH in April 2024 would already have earned $5,569.00 more than a worker at North Lincoln with the same experience who started at the same time.
A full-time CNA2 unit aide tech who started work at SPCH in April 2024 would already have earned $2,591.00 more than a worker at North Lincoln with the same experience who started at the same time.

Is it fair that Samaritan pays SO MUCH LESS in Lincoln City?
The choice is yours: Accept a contract that makes some progress but guarantees that Lincoln City workers continue to get less than other SEIU members at Samaritan or continue pushing for a contract that catches up and keeps up with other members by winning the ability to bargain at the same time.
