VICTORY! Reed Custodians Settle Their Union Contract!

Victory! Reed custodians have won a new union contract that protects their families and strengthens our community!

Custodians, with strong support from students, staff, alumni, and professors, beat back Reed’s attempt to take away their legal rights, remove the cap on medical premiums, and impose a two-tier wage scale. Instead, they won:

💜 Raises that begin to make up for years of lost ground.

💜 Higher guaranteed minimum increases in years 2 & 3 than in the past 20 years.

💜 Stronger protections against unfair discipline—standards common in most union contracts.

This fight wasn’t easy—Reed leadership pushed harder than ever—but custodians came out stronger and more united with the Reed community. Together, they showed that when workers and supporters stand up for fairness and dignity, we all win.
