PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Bargaining Update #09

We’ve Waited Long Enough — It’s Time for a Fair Contract Now

Five months is too long to wait for executives in Vancouver to decide to give members a real raise and address our other priorities. We gave management at deadline of October 31 to come up with better offers and members will vote on November 4, 5, and 6 whether to accept their offer or keep fighting.

Management is still proposing:

  • 2% yearly raises which don’t even keep up with the cost of living.

  • 5% yearly healthcare premium increases and plan changes including a higher out of pocket maximum.

  • Changes to shift differentials which would take away over $1000 a year for some members.

  • The ability to have a unlimited number of members in “variable” shifts which destroy work-life balance and undermine seniority and job posting rights.

Bargaining is set for October 30, PeaceHealth executives have one more chance to offer real wage increases and affordable healthcare before members vote.

Members will vote the first week of November whether to accept managements proposals or keep fighting and prepare for further action to win a strong contract.
