PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Bargaining Update #06

PeaceHealth is Proposing to Leave Many Members in Poverty

93.1% of members report that their wages have not kept up with the rising cost of living and 83% reported that they could not afford an unexpected $400 expense, such as an auto repair or unexpected medical bill. Your team proposed significant wage increases to end poverty at PeaceHealth and allow members to afford to live in this community.

2% is the yearly pay increase PeaceHealth is proposing.

2% will leave members in poverty. 2% isn’t enough to afford rent and bills. 2% will not attract and retain staff and does nothing to honor longevity.

PeaceHealth is Proposing ADDING Costs to Already Unaffordable Health Care

60.9% of members say they have avoided needed medical care due to the high costs. It is unacceptable that hospital workers can’t afford healthcare and your bargaining team proposed reducing out of pocket expenses and freezing premiums.

PeaceHealth proposed RAISING employee premiums for health insurance by 5% a year.

Their proposal does NOTHING to reduce out of pocket costs or give members more say in expenses and plan design.

PeaceHealth is Refusing to Bargain Over the Status of New Hospitals

PeaceHealth management is insisting that your bargaining team accept their inadequate proposal of three hospitals with separate contracts and less rights and guarantees.

Your team proposed that the new hospitals open under the existing contract.

PeaceHealth Has Shown That the Only Way for Members to Get a Fair Contract is to Stand Strong Together and Take Action.
