PDX UNION UPDATES: Summer 2025
Over the last few years, SEIU 49 members at PDX have fought for (and won!) regular wage increases, paid time off, and an incredible new health insurance plan. Because of our unity, solidarity, and action, we keep improving PDX jobs! This summer, SEIU members will see their hard work pay off with a wage increase and a decrease in healthcare costs.
Airport workers at PDX are one group of a growing movement that is fighting for better working conditions, pay, and benefits within airports across the country. You can check out what airport workers are doing all throughout the US at airportworkersunited.org.
WAGES
All SEIU members will receive a pay increase of $0.47/hour, regardless of your current rate of pay.
Because of PDX workers coming together to fight for what they deserve, a pay increase will go into effect on July 1, 2025! The pay increase is set by the Port of Portland using a formula to determine a raise in response to cost-of-living increases. This year, 2025, everyone will receive a 2.5% raise. This will bring the minimum wage from $18.89 per hour up to $19.36/hour. These pay increases will go into effect for all hours worked starting July 1, 2025. This means you’ll see the pay increase on your first pay period with July hours.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Cost
In April 2025, SEIU Local 49 members at PDX gained access to affordable and comprehensive healthcare. This victory is the result of a years-long fight for the benefits you deserve. Beginning in July 2025, members will see a decrease of $20/month, or $10/paycheck, in the cost of their healthcare contributions.
Access to Benefits
If you are enrolled in the healthcare benefits but have not yet received a card from Kaiser, please reach out to us as soon as possible by contacting the Member Resource Center at 503-964-5311.
You can still access your benefits, even if you haven’t received your benefits card! You should instead call Kaiser at 800-813-2000 to access the care you need. On that phone call, they should be able to find you in their system with your first and last name. You can also provide them with the Group Number. Your Group Number is 2044-055. If you provide Kaiser with this information and they still can’t find you in the system, please reach out to SEIU at 503-964-5311.
