Nominations for the 2026-2029 Executive Board are Open!
The Executive Board sets our union’s vision, goals and oversees the finances of our union. There are 31 elected board seats including 5 officer seats and 26 seats to cover geographic areas, industries (or sectors), and bargaining units with over 300 members. It’s up to us to nominate and elect those candidates whom we believe can best lead our union to achieve better jobs and better health for our community.
Executive Board nominations are now open until Friday, December 12 at 5pm. You can nominate yourself or another SEIU 49 member.*
*Good standing requires: No member may become a candidate for an election to the Executive Board of the Union who has not been in continuous good standing for two years immediately preceding the nomination unless:
they are in a bargaining unit that was organized less than two years prior to the election;
this membership requirement is met through the transfer of Local membership into SEIU Local 49 from another Union affiliated with SEIU, pursuant to the provisions of Article XVI, Section 2 of the SEIU International Constitution and Bylaws; or
they have been an officer or other employee of the Local Union during the two years preceding the nomination, in an International Union position, or an employee of a Fund to which the Local or International is a party to under a collective bargaining agreement.

Nos corresponde nominar y elegir a las personas candidatas que, a nuestro juicio, puedan dirigir mejor nuestra Unión para lograr mejores empleos y una mejor salud para nuestra comunidad.
Las nominaciones para la Mesa Directiva ya están abiertas hasta el viernes 12 de diciembre a las 5:00 p. m. Usted puede nominarse a sí mismo o nominar a otro miembro de SEIU Local 49.*
*Buena reputación significa: Ningún miembro puede ser candidato en una elección para la Mesa Directiva del Sindicato si no ha mantenido una buena reputación continua durante los dos años inmediatamente anteriores a la nominación, a menos que:
1) que pertenezcan a una unidad de negociación que se formó hace menos de dos años antes de la elección;
2) este requisito de membresía se cumple mediante la transferencia de membresía local a SEIU Local 49 desde otro sindicato afiliado a SEIU, de acuerdo con las disposiciones del Artículo XVI, Sección 2 de la Constitución y los Estatutos Internacionales de SEIU; o
3) han sido un funcionario o otro empleado del Unión Local durante los dos años anteriores a la nominación, o han ocupado un cargo en el Sindicato Internacional, o han sido empleados de un Fondo en el cual el Sindicato Local o el Internacional son parte en virtud de un convenio colectivo.
