Kaiser, Show Us the Money!

We are so proud our direct action and powerful strike lead to the best Union Contract in decades. Our strike came after years of frustration with Kaiser management’s lack of respect for the front line and we won big.  Now we are determined to make sure all of our members get every penny of what we fought for!

Every single day our bargaining team, Executive Board and staff are pushing Kaiser management to pay up! We know everyone deserves and needs the money we bargained for! Management is moving way too slow!  We are committed to getting every cent and making sure it’s paid back to the date our Agreement states.

PSP Update:

After so many years of no PSP payout, today’s bonus payment is well deserved!

In bargaining last year, it was clear that Kaiser management wanted to gut our PSP program but keep paying manager’s big bonuses.

We pushed back and won our ratification bonus and a guarantee of at least a $1500 PSP this year. A few weeks ago, Kaiser management informed us that the PSP pay out for Coalition members in the NW was going to be $2359 (for full time) and $2141 (for full time dental).

Some of you do not work in dental but your PSP payout is showing as $2141. We raised the issue with Kaiser management, and they have more excuses and are telling us that ambulatory care employees are receiving the same bonus as dental. We are frustrated management has given us inaccurate information, and we are pushing back and filing a national dispute to fight for your money. Tell your managers and call HR to file your own complaints as well! On anything related to pay—Kaiser management is moving as slow as molasses, but we will let you know as soon as we have an update!

Look for more pay differentials to start soon.

Here is what management committed to regarding pay increase implementation- if you have not received a raise that should have already been implemented; document that in a communication to your manager and escalate to HR if needed.  (Keep your records on this).

What if you think there is mistake in your pay?

Contact your manager in writing and keep a copy of the communication, escalate to HR if needed, and then if it is still not resolved let a steward know.

Let’s make sure we all get a big PSP bonus next year too!

Our 2024 PSP plan is a new and different program so make sure your team is aware of the changes and has a plan to meet our goals. We know that next year no matter what department we work in we will get the same PSP as all SEIU members.  Check out the fact sheet:

Thank you to all our stewards, bargaining team members, and staff for pushing Kaiser management to pay our members every cent you earn!

In solidarity,

Meg Niemi
