Los miembros de SEIU Local 49 superamos los muchos desafíos que enfrentamos en 2020 y obtuvimos victorias significativas para los trabajadores en el cuidado de la salud, los janitors, y los oficiales de seguridad en Oregon y el suroeste de Washington. En medio de una pandemia, una crisis económica, un movimiento audaz por la justicia racial y desafíos ambientales como nunca antes habíamos visto, estoy tan inspirada por la forma en que los miembros de SEIU 49 se unieron para presionar a los empleadores que Nos Protegen, Nos Respeten, y Nos Paguen. SEIU Local 49 members rose to the many challenges we faced in 2020 and won significant victories for healthcare workers, janitors, and security officers in Oregon and SW Washington. In the midst of a pandemic, an economic crisis, a bold movement for racial justice, and environmental challenges like we’ve never seen before, I’m so inspired by the way SEIU 49 members stood together to push employers to “Protect Us, Respect Us, and Pay Us.” Simply visit our SEIU Local 49 Facebook page at 4pm on April 16 to celebrate the amazing efforts and victories we were able to make during an unprecedented year. The events will be publicly available, so you don’t need a Facebook account to participate! Following the celebration, the program will continue with a review of the Master Janitorial contract and how as essential workers we will be coming together to fight for a strong contract in 2021.
