SPCH Bargaining Update #4: 3.5% won’t pay the rent
❌ SHS proposed 3.5% (with selectives to a few groups), 3.5%, 2.5% in annual raises.
These raises would mean that Samaritan workers in Newport will end up making less than other Samaritan workers.
Management has said:
❌ No to increasing weekend differential
❌ No to increasing the SEIU Education Fund
❌ No to increasing retirement contributions
❌ No to holiday improvements
❌ And has proposed reducing the maximum PTO members are able to accrue
❌ And has proposed removing the cap on insurance premiums for employee only coverage.
