Told you don’t have coverage at Kaiser or on KP.org?
Don’t panic — the Employer’s report may just be late; it doesn’t mean you’ve lost coverage. Call Earhart at 503.460.5231 to confirm. If you regularly work 30 or more hours a week, you can also use Kaiser’s “believe me” policy — every Kaiser worker should know it, and you’ll get care without being charged.
Received a letter from Earhart saying you’ve lost coverage?
Call Earhart at 503.460.5231 — they can help figure out why. It may mean you didn’t work enough hours to qualify for healthcare.
Need your Kaiser cards?
Call Kaiser at 503.813.2000 — they can look you up by Social Security number or name and date of birth and send your cards. Earhart can also request them for you. Or create an account at kp.org to make appointments, message your doctor, check your coverage, and get test results.

How many hours do I need to work to be covered?
You need to work an average of 30 hours a week to qualify. At the airport we also have “skip-month eligibility” — the hours you work in one month qualify you for coverage two months later:
Work 120 hours in April → you’re covered for June. Your May hours qualify you for July.
Your 40 hours of sick time and PTO count toward the 120 — using them still counts as hours worked.
What happens if I don’t work enough hours one month?
You’d lose coverage for the matching month. If your hours were cut in April, or you used unpaid time, you wouldn’t have coverage in June — but if you worked enough hours in March, you’re still covered for May.

PDX Airport Workers United, it’s time to take flight. That’s right—it is time for us to start organizing and focusing on what improvements we want to see at work that we need to lock in for our contract campaign.
WHAT IS A CONTRACT CAMPAIGN?
Our contract explains all our rights, our benefits, and our union protections. We won the things in our contract when airport workers came together to form their union and then sat down with the company to win all the rights, protections, and work rules that are in our contract. As union workers, when our contract expires, we have the right to sit down as equals with our companies to focus on improvements we want to see. Our current contract expires on June 30, 2026—this year!
Over the next couple months, we are going to be doing a few things:
ELECTING A BARGAINING TEAM. This will be the team of airport workers who will sit down with the company to bargain. These workers will help make sure that the things we want to see changed are focused on.
FILLING OUT A BARGAINING SURVEY. Bargaining surveys will be short and will be the best way for us to hear what people’s top priorities are.
SHOWING THE COMPANIES THAT WE ARE UNITED! That means wearing purple, wearing SEIU 49 buttons and stickers, and taking part in workplace actions—the more people we have involved, the better chance we have of winning the improvements that we want to see.

¿Cuántas horas necesito trabajar para tener cobertura?

¿Qué pasa si no trabajo suficientes horas un mes?
Perdería la cobertura del mes correspondiente. Si le recortaron las horas en abril, o usó tiempo sin pago, no tendría cobertura en junio — pero si trabajó suficientes horas en marzo, aún está cubierto para mayo.
