Non-work dues: Non-work dues of $10 per month are charged for any month when a person is temporarily away from their position. The non-work dues rate has been used for various reasons as outlined below:
- In the case where a person has been terminated and a grievance is pending.
- In the case of members who are away on temporary leave such as maternity leave.
- In the case of retired persons who have opted for union sponsored health insurance (via Pacific Administrators), but are ineligible for the retiree dues rate because of age.
- In the case of persons who are between jobs but request to remain members of the union by paying the non-work dues rate.
Dues Refund Policy:
Dues will be refunded up to one year of the date of the request from the member.
Dues/Fees Charge Policy:
Dues/Fees will be charged up to one year from the date the Union learned of a member’s employment.
Initiation Fee (Does Not Apply To Newly Organized Members):
For newly organized units, no initiation fee will be assessed. The Initiation Fee shall be based on a member’s hourly rate of pay:
Hourly Wage Initiation Fee (Covers First Two Months)
$9.99 or less $ 35.00
$10.00 to $14.99 $ 75.00
$15.00 or more $100.00
Withdrawal Cards:
A member wishing a Withdrawal Card must have all dues and assessments paid up-to-date and submit a request in writing to the Union business office within 90 days of employment termination. Every member receiving a withdrawal card shall pay $5.00, except when adjusted by action of the Executive Board.
