On July 1st, 2010 workers at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center were joined by community members, public officials, SEIU members and others.  Covered by three tv stations and other media, our successful informational picket set out to educate the community about the potential cuts to benefits and healthcare subsidy.

The SEIU-UHW West and Joint Employer Education Fund is a Labor/Management Education Fund for Kaiser employees who are members of SEIU. The Fund provides educational and training opportunities as well as career counseling to enhance career advancement and employment security for health care professionals and to contribute to an excellent standard of quality care. The Education Fund offers a range of educational and training benefits for about 60,000 health care professionals who are SEIU members across California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.
