Requests for College Courses and Seminars

Requests for College CoursesSeminars, Workshops, and Non-Accredited Classes

Submit requests in writing with detailed course / class description and/or program proposal (a copy of the page from the college catalog that describes the requested course).

Requests may only be submitted when all other sources of funding have been exhausted or denied (such as the Kaiser Tuition Reimbursement Program, if the class is job related). If you are eligible for Kaiser Tuition Reimbursement and did not apply for it, requests to this committee will not be processed.

Prepayment is not available for college courses.

Correctly completed requests for reimbursement must be submitted within 45 days of the completion of the event.

Proposals from individuals, groups, departments, managers, or employees may be submitted in person or in writing to the Education Committee.

Due to limited funds and varying numbers of requests;

a.  During the February and August meetings, the committee will review funds available and recommend to the Labor Management Steering Committee a limit to the amount paid per person.

b.  The Steering Committee will review the recommendations at their next meeting and publish the approved amount in the minutes of that meeting.

c.  Requests per person shall not exceed the cap per calendar quarter.
