Kaiser Bargaining Team Nominations Open

As union members at Kaiser we have a unique opportunity to unite with representatives of nearly 100,000 Kaiser employees who are in our National Agreement together. In 2010 we will jointly bargain our national agreement, which has covered things like: our retirement, staffing & backfill, employment and income security, across the board wage increases, benefits, and our labor management partnership.

In 2011 our local union contract for SEIU members in Kaiser in the NW will be open for negotiations. These negotiations could include any subjects that are covered by our local agreement like: wage scales and scheduling, paid time off, job security language, and our rights as union members.

In order to secure and advance the wage, benefits and job security standards we have achieved, it is critical that we have maximum union member participation:
• Complete & return a National Bargaining survey
• Nominate leaders who will do the best job of representing our union in National and Local negotiations by January 26, 2010.
• Attend membership meetings and actions throughout the year to have a voice in our union priorities

Members can nominate co-workers and themselves from the work area in which they will be represented. (e.g. Salem members will nominate and vote for Salem candidates).

You must include your name, Kaiser work location and the district in which you and the person you are nominating work.

The following are the districts from which the bargaining team members will be elected and hold seats:
  • Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center: 2 seats
  • Hospital, Brookside
  • Process center/supply/transportation: 1 seat
  • Washington State: 2 Seats
  • Cascade Park, Longview Kelso, Mill Plain, Orchards, Salmon Creek, Vancouver Clinic
  • Dental: 2 seats
  • All dental clinics including dental call center
  • West Side: 1 Seat
  • Murray Hill, Tualatin, Beaverton, Mother Joseph Plaza, Sunset, St. Vincent’s
  • Salem: 1 Seat
  • West Salem NOB, NLR, SKY, SCC
  • East Side: 2 Seats
  • CLA MTS, LKRD, SYB, MTT, RKW, DIV, AWL, OTC, ARC, Eastman Parkway
  • Interstate: 2 Seats
  • WIN, NIB, Overlook, INT, EIN, CIN, CHR, TH, MPO, RCC, KPB
