    Kaiser Permanente, SEIU UHW-West & Joint Employer Education Fund and the Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust offer represented employees an opportunity to enter a Dental Hygienist Training program. This is a 2-year Associates Degree program customized for Kaiser Permanente employees.
  • Important Update on Kaiser Pension Plans
    These are tough economic times for all of us. And the value of Kaiser Permanente’s pension plans, like most personal and corporate assets, has declined in recent months. We’ve worked hard to minimize this decline, maintain sound funding levels and ensure the future of our pensions. To that end, Kaiser Permanente and the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions have reached an agreement to protect KP pension plans, in the interest of KP employees.

Kaiser Education Fund Benefits

SEIU members who work for Kaiser Permanente are eligible for benefits from two different Education funds: one maintained by Kaiser and SEIU Local 49, and one maintained by Kaiser and SEIU UHW [the SEIU California Health Care Workers Local]

Four Kaiser Local 49 members were recently selected to participate in N2K, an innovative and fast-paced Associate Degree in Nursing program sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, Local 49, and the SEIU UHW-West and Joint Employer Education Fund.

All Kaiser steward positions come up for re-election in February of the even numbered years (Next elections February 2010). Steward elections are not a contest; you can vote for everyone on the ballot. However, if you are not currently a steward, you can run to become a new steward at any time.
